Who We Are

Deb Bittner, pictured with the Mighty Wolfadoodle, Owyn,  is a third-generation Colorado Native who grew up in a rural community on the Front Range. She loves nature and the outdoors and the gifts our earth provides. She has a passion for finding answers to life’s challenges through connecting with the earth and earth’s creatures.

Deb spent 20 years in domestic violence services and assisted at the State level to help increase access to services state-wide. She also assisted in getting the first safehouse in Grand County, and a Family Justice Center in Jefferson County.  

​

She is currently enrolled in Rosemary Gladstar’s “Science and Art of Herbalism,” and has taken introductory courses in Permaculture. She feels this all ties together in the goal for learning and giving back. 

​

Deb has seen first-hand the critical importance balance provides to quality of life for all individuals. She and the Board are committed to making Gigging Goat Farms a place where people can find that balance and create relationships with the earth and each other through environmental stewardship. 
 

Loren ‘obi wan’ Knobbe hails from the East Coast, a Georgia peach to be specific! She has always had a passion for the outdoors and community service, having volunteered over 550 hours in high school through the National Charity League.

She spent her freshman year of college studying in Panama and Spain, and graduated from Florida State University (GO NOLES!) with a BS in Environmental Science. Her work experience is as diverse as her degree. Loren has worked around the country and internationally in guiding, Permaculture farming, DNA testing, working with troubled youth in wilderness therapy as a Lead Instructor, instructing with the Telluride Academy and as the Program & Development Director for True North.

Loren is also a Wilderness First Responder and trained Victim Advocate. Loren is incredibly passionate about regenerative agriculture, sustainable living and the great outdoors. When she's not working or on the farm, you can probably find her biking or running the trails of the magnificent San Juans with her dog & partner (Mako & Zach) and paddling the waters of the San Miguel Watershed.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about a sustainable future, someone who is globally minded with a passion for local change. We welcome all who may be interested in Giggling Goat Farms and enourage you to reach out if you want to learn more!

The GGFs dairy team is currently made up of four LaMancha Goats. ​

Smily loves a good snuggle session but make sure to not touch her legs (she can't stand that!). She enjoys a good head scratch and is first on the milking stand each morning. 

​

Chuckles is always ready for a hug and a good snack - you can find her keeping watch over the "kids" - Joy and Happiness, or going to town on some Scrub Oak.

Happiness may seem shy at first but she is the true Queen. She is feisty and protective, but loves a head scratch. 

​

Joy will snuggle your sorrows away and loves staying right by your side. She's also a very fast runner (for a goat at least)!

LaMancha, American breed of dairy goat known for its much-reduced external ears. LaManchas have a short and glossy coat with numerous color variations and patterns. They are considered a docile breed and are excellent producers of a milk that is high in fat and protein.

The goats play a major role in the GGFs ecosystem. They provide endless entertainment, but they also produce nutritious scat that the chickens can scratch in, as well as using it for compost and soil regeneration methods. 

An integral part of GGFs team, the four (soon to be more!) Chatty Chickens play an important role on the farm. They expedite our on-site composting process through "scratching" while they free range, they produce delicious eggs and they help fertilize and revitalize our soils with their scat.

In addition to their many contributions to the land, they bring us laughter and joy through their consistent clucking and chatter. We enjoy playing hide-n-seek with them at the end of the day too!
